Yvonne Chin (she/her)

Legal Director

 

Yvonne has extensive experience litigating a diversity of claims in state, federal, and administrative courts. Her practice includes family law, personal injury, landlord-tenant law, civil and constitutional rights, and victim’s rights and privacy in education, housing, employment, criminal cases, free speech, and more. While in law school, Yvonne took cases through the Special Education Clinic representing students with disabilities. She was also an Illinois court-appointed guardian ad litem protecting the rights of minors and disabled adults. Prior to returning to SVLC, Yvonne worked in private firms and non-profits, and was a Senior Staff Attorney at the ACLU of Washington. She served on the Seattle Public Schools Title IX Task Force and continues to serve on the King County Bar Association Anti-Racism & Equity Committee and volunteer in the community. She received her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University, College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College. She is admitted to practice in Washington and Illinois.
